Hyderabad: Telangana will add over 15 lakh new beneficiaries to the state’s ration scheme from July 14, marking a major expansion of its public food security network, according to sources.
With this phase, the total number of ration cards in the state will rise to 95,56,625 and the total beneficiary count will touch 3,09,30,911. Civil Supplies Minister Capt N Uttam Kumar Reddy has announced that the initiative would be launched on July 14 (Monday) in Tirumalagiri, Suryapet district, at a public meeting by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.
A total of 3,58,187 new ration cards will be issued in this second phase, benefiting 11,11,223 people. Another 4,41,851 names will be added to existing cards, taking the total additions to 15,53,074 beneficiaries.
