HYDERABAD: BJP national general secretary and MP Bandi Sanjay has written a letter to Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, urging the Centre to declare certain important roads in Telangana as national highways.
In his letter, Sanjay highlighted the need to upgrade specific state roads, particularly in Karimnagar district, to national highway status. He emphasised that such a move would significantly improve civilian mobility and goods transportation in the region.
“Improving the road network will boost economic activity and reduce travel time for both passengers and freight,” Sanjay noted, adding that the demand is rooted in long-standing local requirements.
He urged the ministry to consider this request on a priority basis, citing the developmental benefits and the growing traffic pressure on existing routes.
The proposal aligns with broader BJP efforts to enhance infrastructure in Telangana, especially in semi-urban and rural belts that lack robust connectivity.
