Hyderabad: A birthday celebration turned tragic in Madhapur on Saturday night when a 22-year-old man was brutally murdered in front of his friends.
According to police, Jayant Goud had organised a party behind Yashoda Hospital in Madhapur to celebrate his mother’s birthday with close friends. When the birthday celebrations were on, three unidentified men arrived at the scene and allegedly demanded money and gold from Jayant Goud. A heated argument erupted when Goud refused.
In a fit of rage, the assailants pulled out knives and attacked him, leaving him fatally wounded. Goud collapsed on the spot and succumbed to his injuries before help could arrive.
Madhapur police have registered a case and are investigating the incident. Efforts are on to identify and apprehend the attackers. The victim’s body was shifted to a nearby hospital for post-mortem examination.
Police have appealed to anyone with information about the attackers to come forward and assist in the investigation.
