TSLPRB opens 118 Assistant Public Prosecutor posts, syllabus revised

Hyderabad: The Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board (TSLPRB) has invited online applications for 118 vacancies of Assistant Public Prosecutors in the Telangana State Prosecution Service. The Board issued the notification on August 15, 2025, confirming that recruitment will take place through direct selection.

Application schedule

Candidates can apply only through the TSLPRB website (www.tgprb.in). The Board will accept applications from 8 a.m. on September 12, 2025, until 5 p.m. on October 5, 2025. Officials stressed that they will reject submissions made in any other mode.

Fee and eligibility

Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates from Telangana must pay ₹1,000 as the application and examination fee. All other applicants need to pay ₹2,000, in line with the government order.

To qualify, applicants must have practised as an advocate in the criminal courts of Telangana for at least three years. Those currently working as Legal Advisors, Counsels, or Law Officers in government bodies, PSUs, banks, or reputed corporates may also apply. They must submit a No Objection Certificate from their employer and proof of practice from the Bar Association or the presiding judicial officer.

Syllabus changes

After receiving a request from the Director of Prosecutions, the Board introduced minor modifications to the exam syllabus.

Under Central Acts:

  • The Chit Funds Act, 1982, replaces the Limitation Act, 1963.
  • The Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, replaces the Prevention of Food Adulteration Act, 1954.

Under State Acts:

  • The Telangana Prevention of Ragging Act, 1997, replaces the Telangana State Chit Funds Act, 1971.
  • The Telangana Prevention of Dangerous Activities of Bootleggers, Dacoits, Drug-Offenders, Goondas, Immoral Traffic Offenders and Land Grabbers Act, 1986, replaces the Telangana State Preventive Detention Act, 1970.
  • Officials said these changes align the syllabus with current legal needs.

Application process

Applicants must upload a combined passport-size photograph and signature in JPG format (30 KB–100 KB) and certificates in PDF format (each under 1 MB). After submitting the form, candidates should download and keep a printout for reference.

The Board clarified that it will not reply to individual correspondence. Instead, candidates should contact the helpline number listed on the website for queries.
