HYDERABAD: In a major step towards expanding global employment avenues for Telangana’s youth, Telangana Overseas Manpower Company Ltd. (TOMCOM) signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with two leading Japanese agencies — TERN (TGUK Technologies Pvt. Ltd.) and Raj Group — during Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s official visit to Japan.
TOMCOM, a state-run organisation under the Department of Labour, Employment, Training & Factories, is facilitating this international collaboration to help meet Japan’s increasing demand for skilled professionals across key sectors.
TERN, with a regional office in Shinagawa, Tokyo, specialises in recruitment for Japan’s software, engineering, and Specified Skilled Worker (SSW) sectors. Raj Group, already working with TOMCOM to train and recruit caregivers through its partnership with Japan’s Tsukui Corporation Ltd., will now expand its collaboration to include non-health sectors.
The two companies have indicated a combined requirement of approximately 500 skilled workers from Telangana over the next one to two years, spread across the following sectors:
- Healthcare: 200 positions
- Engineering (Automotive, Mechanical, IT): 100 positions
- Hospitality: 100 positions
- Construction (including civil works, infrastructure, maintenance): 100 positions
These agreements are part of TOMCOM’s strategic mission to diversify and strengthen international employment pipelines for Telangana’s youth, aligning closely with the government’s vision of promoting global workforce mobility and enhancing international career access for skilled professionals.
Speaking at the MoU signing, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy noted the importance of such partnerships in transforming Telangana into a global talent hub. The agreements are expected to foster long-term cooperation and reinforce Telangana’s reputation as a dependable source of high-quality, skilled manpower.
With this development, Telangana takes another step towards empowering its youth with world-class opportunities and contributing meaningfully to global labour markets, especially in Japan’s evolving employment landscape.
