HYDERABAD: The Telangana government has extended the deadline for the Scheduled Castes (SC) Classification Commission to submit its report. The decision was announced on Tuesday, allowing the commission additional time to complete its study and present recommendations.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s government has been focusing on addressing caste-based disparities and ensuring fair representation in welfare policies. The commission was formed to examine the classification of SC communities and recommend necessary measures for equitable distribution of benefits.
Officials stated that the extension was necessary to allow for a more comprehensive analysis and consultations with various stakeholders. The commission is expected to submit its final report in the coming months, which will serve as the basis for potential policy changes aimed at addressing longstanding demands from different SC groups.
