HYDERABAD: The Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rain across several districts in southern Telangana, warning of possible thunderstorms and strong winds. The affected districts include Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Warangal, Nalgonda, Mahbubnagar, and Khammam.
Rain with gusty winds expected
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), these regions may experience rain accompanied by gusty winds reaching speeds of 30 to 40 kilometres per hour. Rainfall over the past Friday and Saturday had already caused waterlogging on many roads in Hyderabad, leading to severe inconvenience for commuters.
Public advised to take precautions
The IMD has advised residents to avoid unnecessary travel and remain in safe locations, especially in low-lying areas vulnerable to flooding. People living in such areas have been specifically urged to remain alert.
More showers likely in coming days
The forecast also suggests continued rainfall in some areas over the coming days. Citizens have been urged to stay updated with the latest weather bulletins and follow the instructions issued by local authorities.
