Hyderabad: In a significant administrative shake-up, the Telangana government has reshuffled several senior IPS officers across the state, appointing them to key posts in districts and crucial departments to bolster law enforcement and streamline administrative functions.

Abhilasha Bisht of the 1994 batch, who had been awaiting a new assignment, has been appointed Director of the RBVRR Telangana State Police Academy in Hyderabad. She takes over from V.V. Srinivasa Rao (1995 batch), who was holding the post on a temporary basis.

Returning from Central deputation, Charu Sinha of the 1996 batch has been posted as Additional Director General of Police, CID. She will also oversee Women Safety, SHE Teams, and Bharosa initiatives – roles previously handled by Shikha Goel.

Shikha Goel, a senior 1994 batch officer who had managed the CID and the state’s women’s safety initiatives, will now serve as Director of the Telangana Cyber Security Bureau. She will also hold additional charge of the Forensic Science Laboratory until further notice.

In another key appointment, Tafseer Iqubal (2008 batch) has been shifted from the Minorities Welfare Department to assume charge as Deputy Inspector General of Police, Zone VI, Charminar.

At the zonal level in Hyderabad, S. Chaitanya Kumar (2020 batch) takes charge as Deputy Commissioner of Police, South East Zone, succeeding Subhash in the post.

District-level changes include the appointment of D.V. Srinivasa Rao (2013 batch) as Superintendent of Police in Medak. His former posting as SP in Komaram Bheem Asifabad has been assigned to Patil Kantilal Subhash (2020 batch).
