Hyderabad: Amid cheers and a spirit of unity, Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu delivered a powerful speech in Karimnagar on the occasion of Telangana’s 12th Formation Day, reflecting on the state’s journey and outlining the government’s roadmap for the future.
Extending warm greetings to the people, freedom fighters, and officials, Sridhar Babu paid heartfelt tributes to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for statehood. “Telangana, built on their sacrifices, is today a beacon of progress,” he said, acknowledging the families and activists who stood at the forefront of the movement.
He credited Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s leadership for steering the state towards the ambitious “Telangana Rising – 2047” vision a comprehensive development blueprint unveiled at the recent NITI Aayog meeting. Sridhar Babu highlighted its four pillars: welfare for the poor, comprehensive policy-making, world-class infrastructure, and transparent governance.
He underscored key achievements already making an impact:
– Women’s Empowerment: Under the Mahalakshmi Mission, one crore women are being empowered through free RTC travel, subsidised cooking gas, free electricity, housing support, and opportunities in entrepreneurship. “A home where women thrive is blessed with prosperity,” he noted.
– Farmers’ Welfare: In just eight months, ₹20,617 crore in loans have been waived for 25.35 lakh farmers, with Rythu Bharosa delivering ₹12,000 per acre investment support. Record paddy procurement and prompt payments, alongside ₹10,000 compensation per acre for rain-affected crops, have ensured farmers’ dignity and prosperity.
– Social Justice: Telangana is leading the nation in implementing SC categorisation and conducting a caste census. A proposal for 42% reservation for BCs reflects the state’s commitment to equity.
– Youth and Education: Over 60,000 government jobs have been filled, with private-sector investments generating one lakh more. Model schools are being built on 25-acre campuses, with 58 underway. Coaching and support are extended to SC, ST, BC, and minority youth.
– Housing: Indiramma Housing aims to build 4.5 lakh houses, with direct benefit transfers to ensure transparency.
– Global Recognition: Telangana’s investments from the US, South Korea, Singapore, and Japan are complemented by hosting global events like the AI Summit and Miss World pageant in Hyderabad.
Focusing on Karimnagar, Sridhar Babu highlighted achievements: ₹785.66 crore disbursed to SHGs, 6.72 lakh quintals of paddy procured, and 221 teachers recruited. Mahalakshmi Free Travel saved ₹158.58 crore for local women commuters. Subsidised gas cylinders, job creation, record paddy procurement, and new ration cards showcased the government’s commitment to grassroots development.
In his closing remarks, the Minister thanked Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and all public representatives, officials, NGOs, media, and citizens for their unwavering support. “Together, we are scripting a new chapter of inclusive growth and progress,” he declared, vowing to continue the journey with the same dedication and passion.
