Telangana cabinet expansion

HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, TPCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud, and Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy, arrived in Delhi on Monday evening to hold talks with the Congress high command on the Telangana cabinet expansion.

The Telangana cabinet expansion has been a key political agenda, with the delegation scheduled to meet senior Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal at Indira Bhavan. The discussions will focus on recent political developments in Telangana and strategies for finalising the remaining cabinet positions.

Currently, six ministerial berths remain vacant in the Telangana cabinet. Sources indicate that these posts will likely be distributed across various social groups, including SC, ST, BC, Minority, and Reddy communities. Among the names being considered are G. Vivek for the SC quota, Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy for the Reddy category, Amer Ali Khan for the Minority quota, and V. Srinivas Goud for the BC category. Additionally, Prem Sagar Rao from Adilabad is also under consideration for a cabinet role.

The cabinet expansion is expected to be finalised before the Ugadi festival, in line with the party’s pledge to ensure inclusive representation and deliver on electoral promises. The outcome of these meetings is likely to provide clarity on the evolving political landscape in Telangana in the coming days.
