HYDERABAD, January 31: The Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has reached the final stage of its organisational elections. After completing elections for booth, village, and mandal committees, the state leadership has focused on selecting district committee presidents. Although selections in most districts have been informally finalised, official announcements were delayed due to multiple contenders in certain areas. To achieve consensus, the state leadership has decided to conclude the election process for district presidents.
State party in-charge Sunil Bansal, election observer Arvind Menon, and state president G. Kishan Reddy have consulted with central leadership to organise the district president election process. Nominations will be accepted tomorrow, with an official announcement regarding district president elections scheduled for Sunday. The election of a new state BJP president is to be completed by the end of January. Additionally, the national BJP president is to be elected, necessitating the selection of state presidents in several regions beforehand. Given the delay in district president elections, the party leadership has decided to expedite this process.
The party leadership has decided to appoint a member from the Backward Classes (BC) community as the new state party president, replacing Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy. After extensive discussions, the leadership has reportedly finalised Eatala Rajender for the position.
However, two other leaders are making final efforts. Unless there is a last-minute change, it appears that Eatala Rajender will become the new leader of the Telangana BJP.
