HYDERABAD: The Telangana government has appointed T. Kishan Kumar Reddy as the Vice-Chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH). Governor Jishnu Dev Varma issued the official orders on Tuesday, confirming Reddy’s appointment for a tenure of three years.
The Vice-Chancellor position at JNTUH had been vacant since May 21 of the previous year. Despite multiple attempts by the government to fill the role, the appointment process faced delays due to technical reasons. With the Governor’s recent approval, the university now has a full-time Vice-Chancellor.
Prior to this appointment, the responsibilities of the Vice-Chancellor were managed by the Chairman of the Telangana State Council of Higher Education in an interim capacity.
T. Kishan Kumar Reddy brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He has previously served as the Officer on Special Duty to the Vice-Chancellor of JNTUH from January 2012 to May 2014 and was the Founder Director of the Academic Audit Cell from 2011 to October 2014.
The university community anticipates that under Reddy’s leadership, JNTUH will continue to advance in academic excellence and research initiatives.
