Hyderabad: A first-year intermediate student at Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya in Wanaparthy district attempted suicide by jumping from a school building.
The student, identified as Dharani, was rushed to a government hospital by staff and fellow students. Doctors there provided initial treatment before referring her to NIMS Hospital in Hyderabad for advanced care.
Dharani hails from Krishnagiri village in the district and had recently enrolled in the school for her intermediate studies.
Authorities said the reason behind the suicide attempt remains unclear.
