Hyderabad: Telangana’s IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu on Wednesday launched a scathing attack on the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), accusing the party of deliberately stalling the state’s industrial progress to sabotage employment opportunities for the youth.
In a strongly worded statement, Sridhar Babu charged the BRS with clinging to a regressive political mindset that is out of step with the state’s aspirations. “It is increasingly evident that the BRS does not want industries to thrive in Telangana,” he said. “Their actions suggest a deliberate attempt to block job creation for our youth.”
The Minister outlined that the Congress-led government has attracted ₹3 lakh crore in investments over the past 18 months, creating 1.5 lakh direct jobs in the private sector and indirectly benefitting another one lakh people. “The BRS is visibly anxious about these developments, fearing that the success of these projects will erode their political relevance,” he added.
Sridhar Babu accused the BRS of trying to disrupt ongoing industrial projects and of inciting farmers as a diversionary tactic. Despite these hurdles, he asserted, the Revanth Reddy-led government is determined to transform Telangana into a leading destination for industrial investments.
He pointed to the establishment of the Young India Skills University as a key step towards bridging the state’s skills gap and aligning education with industry needs. Additionally, district-level skill development centres are being set up to ensure every unemployed youth is equipped with at least one industry-relevant skill.
Addressing the controversy surrounding the ethanol plant at Peddadhandwada village in Jogulamba Gadwal district, the Minister clarified that the plant is in line with the Union Government’s policy to blend 20% ethanol into petrol by 2025-26. “The land was legally purchased by the company and not acquired by the government,” he stressed. “The project will generate local employment and contribute to regional growth.”
Sridhar Babu warned that if the BRS continues to obstruct development, the people of Telangana will never forgive them. “No party can survive by promoting disruption and destruction,” he said. “Unless they learn from their past defeat and cooperate in the state’s development journey, public support will remain out of reach.”
