Hyderabad: A shocking case of domestic violence ended in patricide in Telangana’s Rajanna Sircilla district, where a son allegedly killed his father after enduring years of abuse.
The incident took place in Devuni Tanda village. According to police, the accused, identified as Rajesh, reportedly took the drastic step following repeated domestic disputes and his father’s violent behaviour towards his mother.
Locals said the deceased, Gogulu Thirupathi, 40, was often drunk and would physically assault his wife, sparking constant arguments in the household. On the day of the incident, an enraged Rajesh allegedly ran his father over with a vehicle, causing severe injuries.
Thirupathi was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries en route, police said.
Authorities visited the scene, registered a case, and have launched a full investigation into the circumstances leading up to the tragedy.
The incident has left the village in shock, with neighbours recalling the frequent disturbances in the family home. Police have urged families to seek help in cases of domestic violence before such incidents escalate.
