HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has strongly criticized former CM K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) for staying away from budget sessions and confining himself to his farmhouse. He urged KCR to participate actively in governance, reiterating that an effective government requires both the ruling and opposition parties to work together.
Addressing speculation about alleged differences with Rahul Gandhi, Revanth Reddy dismissed the rumors as baseless. He asserted his strong ties with the Gandhi family, questioning whether he would have been appointed as PCC chief and later as CM if such a relationship did not exist.
He also accused BJP leaders of obstructing Telangana’s progress by withholding crucial funds and projects. He specifically called out Union Minister Kishan Reddy for failing to address the state’s development needs.
Clarifying his stance on financial aid, Revanth Reddy stated that he was not seeking funds for implementing the six guarantees but for key infrastructure projects like the Regional Ring Road (RRR), Metro expansion, and Musi River beautification. He highlighted that in just one year, his administration had introduced various policies, attracted ₹2.2 lakh crore in investments, and reduced the unemployment rate from 8.8% to 6.1%.
Revanth Reddy further demanded that Union Minister Kishan Reddy provide an immediate response on the delimitation issue, which he believes poses a threat to Telangana and South India.
