Hyderabad: With the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting continued rainfall across Telangana for the next three days, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Wednesday placed all districts and civic bodies on high alert.
In a directive to District Collectors, the Chief Minister emphasised immediate action to safeguard paddy stored at procurement centres and market yards. He instructed officials to expedite the weighing and transfer of paddy stocks to rice mills to prevent damage from the rains. Special attention has also been advised in low-lying areas to avoid water stagnation and ensure safety for residents.
In Hyderabad, where heavy rains have disrupted traffic and caused waterlogging in several localities, Revanth Reddy directed the GHMC, Police, HYDRAA, Traffic Wing, and Electricity Department to coordinate closely. The goal, he said, is to avoid power outages, road blockages, and traffic congestion.
The Chief Minister has also asked Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao to closely monitor the evolving situation and conduct periodic reviews to ensure swift response from all departments involved.
