HYDERABAD: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy paid floral tributes to Dr B.R. Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution, at the Ambedkar statue on Hyderabad’s Tank Bund to mark his birth anniversary.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, Ministers Damodar Rajanarasimha and Ponnam Prabhakar, and former MP Anjan Kumar Yadav. Together, they garlanded the statue and offered their respects to Babasaheb Ambedkar.
However, criticism emerged over the state government’s neglect of the 125-foot Ambedkar statue located near the Secretariat. The monument, which was installed during the BRS regime, has reportedly not been given due attention. On Ambedkar’s birth anniversary, the public was not even allowed to visit the site, with accusations that the current administration is sidelining the statue out of political resentment toward its association with former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao.
