Ranveer Singh was left emotional on Thursday after Indian football icon Sunil Chhetri announced his retirement. Chhetri issued a video statement on his Instagram handle and announced he would retire from international football after the second round of World Cup qualifiers against Kuwait on June 6, 2024.
Ranveer Singh took to the comments section of Chhetri’s video and penned down an emotional note. He called the footballer an “icon” and thanked him for bringing glory to the country. “ICON. HERO. LEGEND. A bittersweet moment for us, who have been touched and inspired by your greatness. Thank you for bringing us so much joy and glory, Captain. Love you forever!” he wrote.
Ranveer Singh has always been an ardent football lover. Earlier, during an Instagram Live chat session with Sunil Chhetri, the Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani actor elaborated on his love for the Reds revealing how he became a fanboy. “In the beginning, the year I had started watching the Premier League and Arsenal were playing the best football, so I immediately got attracted to it,” he said.
Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh also ruled headlines recently after he deleted his wedding pictures from his Instagram handle. His act left DeepVeer fans worried with many wondering if all was not well between him and Deepika.
However, a source later told Hindustan Times that there is no trouble in the couple’s paradise and added that Ranveer not only archived his wedding photos but also decided to archive all posts before 2023.
“Well, he has deleted all his pictures from the year before 2022-2023. It is not just about his wedding pictures. In fact, all his recent pictures with Deepika are still on his handles. So, it is really baffling as to how people can assume that there is any trouble in paradise,” the source said.
“They are really excited to welcome their first child to the world, and are cherishing every moment of this phase of their life. In fact, Deepika and Ranveer are enjoying some quality time together on a quiet getaway in India,” the insider added.
On the work front, Ranveer Singh will soon be seen in and as Don in the third part of the superhit franchise. The Farhan Akhtar movie will also str Kiara Advani in the lead. Besides this, Ranveer is also slated to appear in Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again. The actor will also work with ‘HanuMan’ director Prasanth Varma soon for a movie.
