Hyderabad, January 26: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s policies align with American imperialism, claimed CPM leader Prakash Karat. Addressing the CPM Telangana State Convention at a function hall in Malkapur, Kondapur Mandal, Karat criticised the Modi government’s pro-corporate and communal agenda. He urged citizens to resist anti-people policies actively.

Speaking at the event, Karat expressed disappointment over the absence of Sitaram Yechury from the convention. He stated that party leaders must shoulder the responsibility of filling the void created by Yechury’s absence.
Karat also criticised the Indian government’s stance on global conflicts, accusing it of supporting Israel while ignoring the plight of Palestine. He highlighted ongoing wars between Russia and Ukraine as well as Israel and Palestine, alleging that India has failed to maintain a balanced approach. He also remarked that since Donald Trump’s presidency, the US has increasingly sought global dominance through dubious strategies.

Domestically, Karat accused the BJP-led government of attempting to confine India to a single religion, thereby endangering the Constitution. He stated that the Modi government operates on two pillars: Hindutva ideology and corporate powers. Karat called for united resistance against the BJP’s economic policies, social oppression, and caste discrimination, emphasising the need for systemic change to safeguard democratic values.

The CPM leader concluded with a call for action, urging party members and citizens alike to strengthen their efforts in opposing divisive and exploitative policies.
