HYDERABAD: Transport minister Ponnam Prabhakar has announced that the Telangana government will set up Neera Cafes across the state to support toddy farmers. The initiative is designed to provide better opportunities, financial stability, and employment in rural areas.
“The state government is determined to support the livelihood of toddy farmers by introducing Neera Cafes. These establishments will not only create employment but also promote the cultural and economic significance of Neera-based products,” Prabhakar stated.
He further emphasized that the government is working on policies to ensure hygienic production and legal recognition of Neera products. The initiative aims to boost the local economy while preserving traditional toddy tapping practices.
The announcement comes amid increasing discussions on diversifying agricultural and rural income sources in Telangana. The state government is expected to release a detailed roadmap for the Neera Cafe project soon.
