Lottery Scam

Hyderabad: A ₹4 crore lottery scam was exposed in Miryalaguda town of Nalgonda district on Monday, after several victims filed complaints alleging large-scale fraud by the organisers of a fake prize scheme.

The accused—Ramesh, Koteshwara Rao, and Srinivas—reportedly set up a firm named Ark Enterprises and launched a monthly draw scheme under which members were required to pay ₹1,000 per month for 15 months. Organisers claimed each draw would award valuable prizes to ten randomly selected participants.

Early giveaways were made to select members, helping establish trust. Several local agents also joined the operation and helped the organisers expand the scheme across the combined Nalgonda district, Hyderabad, and parts of Andhra Pradesh.

Around 2,600 people enrolled, and nearly ₹4 crore was collected. Complaints state that while some gifts were distributed in the beginning, the organisers started delaying promised rewards after January, when the scheme concluded. They have since remained unreachable.

The incident has sparked local unrest, with several victims gathering at the Miryalaguda Town I Police Station to file complaints. Confirming the development, CI Motiram said a case has been registered and an investigation is underway.

Victims have appealed for immediate arrests and the recovery of their money.
