Hyderabad, January 27: State Health Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha has issued directives to establish boating facilities at the Singur Project in Sangareddy district’s Pulkal mandal. During his visit to the site, the minister assessed the area for potential tourism development. He instructed officials to introduce two advanced boats, each with a capacity of 50 seats, along with speed boats to enhance visitor experience.
To attract a larger number of tourists, Minister Rajanarsimha emphasized the creation of a comprehensive master plan and road map. He directed officials from the Tourism, Irrigation, and Roads & Buildings (R&B) departments to collaborate on this initiative. The minister proposed the development of amenities on the island within the Singur reservoir, including a watchtower with a restaurant, food court, children’s play area, landscaping, and gardening.
Additionally, plans are underway to develop the area downstream of the Singur Project. The Tourism Department has been tasked with constructing a restaurant, 25 modern cottages, a children’s play area, food court, greenery, landscaping, and parking facilities across 29 acres, with an estimated budget of Rs 5 crore.
The Irrigation Department has been instructed to construct a bitumen road atop the Singur dam, build necessary steps for tourist access, develop a park along the dam bund, and establish cycling and walking tracks with central lighting. Proposals for these developments are to be prepared by the first week of February.
To improve accessibility, the R&B Department has been directed to expand the road from Pedda Reddy Peta Cross Road to Singur Dam into a four-lane highway and install advanced lighting systems. Minister Rajanarsimha stressed the importance of prioritizing infrastructure development to facilitate tourist visits to the Singur Project.
These initiatives aim to transform the Singur Project area into a significant tourist destination, leveraging its natural resources and scenic beauty.
