Hyderabad: A case has been registered at the Hyderabad Central Crime Station (CCS) on Wednesday against several employees of the Dr Marri Chenna Reddy Human Resource Development Institute (MCRHRD) in Jubilee Hills, for allegedly embezzling ₹1.71 crore using forged documents and fake signatures.
The employees, who were working in the accounts department of MCRHRD, were responsible for handling financial transactions related to the institute’s operations. During the course of their duties, they reportedly made several cash payments to various individuals and organisations.
However, discrepancies came to light during an internal audit, which revealed irregularities in the cash transactions. Investigating officials found that fake documents and forged signatures had been used under the names of senior officers to siphon off funds.
Previously, the institute’s director had lodged a complaint with the Jubilee Hills police. The case was later transferred to the CCS, which has now officially registered the case and begun an investigation.
