HYDERABAD, February 13: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) criticised the Congress government after reports surfaced that a dairy farmer’s house gate was seized due to an unpaid loan. He questioned the government’s commitment to the ₹2 lakh farm loan waiver, accusing it of failing to fulfil promises made before the elections.
In a social media post, KTR asked whether Chief Minister Revanth Reddy would be held accountable for not implementing the loan waiver scheme. “Is there one rule for poor farmers and another for those in power?” he questioned, highlighting the perceived disparity in treatment.
The incident has sparked debate over debt recovery practices and the state government’s handling of farm loan waivers. Opposition leaders are demanding immediate relief for affected farmers and action against coercive recovery methods. The Congress government is yet to respond to the allegations.
