HYDERABAD, February 1: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) launched a sharp attack on Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, stating that KCR represents history, while Revanth Reddy is like a lottery winner. Speaking at an event in Dasya Nayak Thanda, Parigi constituency, after unveiling a statue of B.R. Ambedkar, KTR alleged that Revanth Reddy became chief minister without effort, calling it a stroke of luck.
KTR asserted that tribal farmers were currently fighting for their land rights under constitutional provisions. He emphasised that democracy involves victories and defeats, stating that BRS ruled for 10 years and developed Telangana into a leading state under KCR’s leadership. He highlighted that the party had upgraded thandas into village panchayats and created new mandals, revenue divisions, and districts to ensure decentralised governance.
Accusing the Congress government of financial mismanagement, KTR alleged that various welfare schemes, including Rythu Bandhu and debt waivers, were being neglected. He pointed out that the previous BRS government had spent ₹73,000 crore on Rythu Bandhu and ₹28,000 crore on loan waivers in two phases. However, he claimed that under Revanth Reddy’s leadership, funds were not reaching beneficiaries, including sanitation workers.
KTR further criticised Revanth Reddy’s style of politics, accusing him of relying only on verbal attacks. He claimed that while KCR had strengthened Telangana’s self-respect at the national level, Revanth Reddy should prove his governance capabilities by running an administration without corruption.
