HYDERABAD: Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao, has called on officials to work with dedication to ensure effective service delivery to all communities under the Indiramma governance model of the state government.
Speaking at a district-level review meeting on Wednesday at the Integrated District Offices Complex in Nizamabad, the minister emphasised prioritising key services such as fine rice distribution and drinking water supply. He instructed officials to resolve any arising issues without delay.
The meeting was attended by MLAs P. Sudarshan Reddy and Dr Bhupathi Reddy, alongside other public representatives and district-level officials from all departments. District Collector Rajeev Gandhi Hanumanthu briefed the minister on the implementation of government programmes and welfare schemes across the district. Discussions covered agriculture, drinking water supply, marketing, civil supplies, housing, and the execution of the Bhoobharathi scheme.
Reviewing the civil supplies department, the minister noted that paddy procurement was proceeding in a planned manner. He praised the district administration for supplying fine rice from Nizamabad to Adilabad, Medak, Sangareddy, Medchal, and other districts, and urged them to continue this momentum to make Nizamabad a model district.
The Collector reported that an estimated 1.1 million metric tonnes of paddy would be harvested in the current Rabi season, with plans to procure 800,000 metric tonnes. Of the 690 procurement centres planned, 426 are already operational, through which 242,000 metric tonnes of paddy worth ₹562 crore have been procured.
Minister Jupally instructed that farmers should not face any difficulties and that receipts must be issued immediately after weighing their produce. He directed the establishment of a district-level control room with a toll-free number to register complaints from the public and farmers on issues such as water supply and paddy procurement.
The minister urged officials to ensure transparent governance under the Indiramma governance framework. He stressed that only eligible beneficiaries should be selected under the Indiramma housing scheme and that the selection process must remain free from influence and corruption. He warned that any irregularities would be dealt with strictly, including recovery actions.
For beneficiaries lacking the financial capacity to begin construction, he suggested facilitating the building of houses through IKP women’s groups, who would later be reimbursed. Beneficiaries must be made aware of plot sizes ranging from a minimum of 400 square feet to a maximum of 600 square feet. Continuous field-level monitoring was advised to ensure the speedy completion of houses.
The minister called for effective monitoring of rice distribution and ordered all vacancies among ration dealers to be filled within a month. He also directed equitable allocation of quota across all ration shops.
He noted that the Bhoobharathi Act, brought in under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, aimed to provide relief to farmers affected by the Dharani portal during the previous government. He encouraged proactive resolution of land-related issues through the new legislation and suggested scheduling farmer interaction sessions at mandal and village levels.
Jupally directed officials to ensure that applicants for caste, income, birth, and death certificates receive them within two days, eliminating the need to visit offices repeatedly. He asked that applications under Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak be processed swiftly and approvals granted within a fortnight.
He further instructed that every eligible household applying under Indiramma governance should receive a gas cylinder subsidy and 200 units of free electricity, to be ensured through door-to-door surveys.
