Hyderabad: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall across several districts in Telangana over the next 24 hours.
According to the alert, isolated areas in Jagtial, Kamareddy, Medak, Nirmal, and Nizamabad are expected to witness intense rain activity from 2:00 PM on May 24 until 8:30 AM on May 25. The severity of the event has been categorised as an ‘alert’ with a high likelihood of occurrence.
Authorities have urged residents in the affected districts to remain cautious and adhere strictly to safety advisories issued by the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA).
The public is advised to avoid travel during heavy downpours, ensure drainage systems are clear, and stay updated through official weather bulletins.
