Hyderabad: GHMC took down a set of illegal buildings in Medipally, claiming they were tied to a private engineering college operating without proper approvals.
The demolition followed a complaint flagged by the Special Enforcement Team, which pointed to shady construction activity on Survey No. 26 in Peerzadiguda. Officials believe the site was connected to Cheetam Engineering and Technology College but was being developed without the green light from planning authorities.
For over two weeks, the area had been on GHMC’s radar, with concerns that the land was being promoted as real estate while posing as part of an educational institution. Acting on those suspicions, the town planning team—along with police and led by Deputy Commissioner Rangareddy—moved in and cleared the site.
After the action, GHMC warned that similar violations won’t be tolerated. They also urged the public to make sure all necessary approvals are in place before putting money into any property deal.
