Hyderabad: With the annual Fish Prasadam distribution at Nampally’s Exhibition Grounds drawing thousands of visitors this weekend, Hyderabad Traffic Police has announced an elaborate traffic management plan to avoid congestion and ensure public safety.
The event, organised by the Bathini Mrigasira Trust from the evening of 7 June to 9 June, is expected to see a large turnout of devotees seeking the traditional remedy for asthma. To manage the influx, officials have issued a detailed advisory outlining traffic diversions, alternate routes, and designated parking areas.
Traffic will be restricted around MJ Market Junction, Gandhi Bhavan, Alaska Junction, and surrounding areas. Heavy vehicles coming from SA Bazar Mosque, Putli Bowli and Yousufian Company will be diverted at MJ Market towards Nampally Station Road via GPO Junction. Traffic from Ravindra Bharathi will be redirected at AR Petrol Pump towards BJR Circle, while vehicles from Abids will also be diverted at MJ Market Junction towards SA Bazar Mosque.
For visitors heading to the event, special parking arrangements have been made:
— Four-wheelers from the Nampally side should park at Gruha Kalpa, Gagan Vihar, or Chandra Vihar before proceeding on foot to Exhibition Ground Gate No. 2.
— Buses and vans from MJ Market must alight at Gandhi Bhavan Bus Stop, while those from Nampally should disembark at Gruha Kalpa Bus Stop.
— VIP car pass holders have separate entry via Ajanta Gate and CWC Gate, with designated VIP parking.
— Two-wheelers from MJ Market should park at Manoranjan Complex; from Nampally, parking is available between Gruha Kalpa and the BJP Office.
— Auto-rickshaw drop-off points are near Shezan Hotel, Bhavani Wines/Juvenile Court, and the Excise Office, with parking on the left side of the road.
General traffic from MJ Bridge and Begum Bazar Chatri towards Nampally will be diverted at Alaska towards Darusalam and Ek Minar to ease congestion.
The Hyderabad Traffic Police has urged all commuters to cooperate, follow alternative routes, and stay updated through their official Facebook (facebook.com/HYDTP) and Twitter (@HYDP) pages. For emergency assistance, citizens can call the traffic helpline at 9010203626.
