Hyderabad: Several parts of Hyderabad experienced an unexpected spell of rainfall on Saturday evening, offering much-needed relief after a day of oppressive heat and humidity. The sudden change in weather occurred after 5 PM, accompanied by a noticeable drop in temperature and strong winds.
Moderate showers were recorded in localities including Musheerabad, Chikkadpally, RTC Cross Roads, Bagh Lingampally, Ramnagar, Vidyanagar, Secunderabad, Bowenpally, Trimulgherry, Alwal, Biyapnalli, Paradise, Uppal, Ramanthapur, Boudha Nagar, and Malkajgiri. Meanwhile, light drizzles were reported in Chaderghat, Malakpet, Dilsukhnagar, Kothapet, LB Nagar, and Hayathnagar.
The abrupt rainfall provided significant respite for residents, who had endured a particularly hot and humid afternoon.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast further rainfall across Telangana over the next three days, ranging from light to heavy showers. The agency has issued an orange alert for certain districts, while others remain under a yellow alert.
For Sunday, heavy rain accompanied by gusty winds is expected in Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Jangaon, and Siddipet. Other districts, including Mancherial, Bhongir, Ranga Reddy, Hyderabad, Malkajgiri, Nagarkurnool, Narayanpet, and Gadwal, are likely to experience isolated showers.
The forecast for Monday includes thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds in Adilabad, Asifabad, Mancherial, Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Jangaon, and Siddipet.
The IMD has also indicated the likelihood of continued rainfall across various districts on Tuesday.
