Hyderabad: Candidates appearing for the Telangana High Court exam faced severe inconvenience on Sunday at Stanley College in Abids, Hyderabad, due to technical glitches in the computer-based test. The delayed start and poor arrangements created a chaotic situation at the examination centre.
Disruption caused by technical problems
The exam, scheduled to begin at 11 a.m., was postponed by several hours owing to malfunctioning computers. Candidates reported that the systems were not functioning properly and that basic facilities were lacking at the venue. Many, including women and those travelling from remote districts, were left waiting for hours without access to drinking water, shade, or seating.
Women and differently-abled candidates affected
Local media reports highlighted the absence of essential facilities for women and differently-abled candidates. Several examinees expressed frustration over the disorganised and unprofessional conduct at the centre. Many demanded that a re-examination be held for those affected by the disruptions.
Statewide recruitment for High Court vacancies
The Telangana High Court is conducting computer-based examinations from 15 to 20 April to fill 1,673 vacancies. The posts include Junior Assistant, Examiner, Field Assistant, Record Assistant, Copyist, and various Subordinate Services roles. Selection is based on written exams, skill tests, shorthand and typing assessments, and document verification.
Awaiting further action
Affected candidates have urged the High Court and the Telangana Public Service Commission to reschedule the exam for all centres impacted by technical faults. As of now, no official response has been issued by the authorities regarding this demand.
