Hyderabad: Heavy rain pounded parts of the city on Saturday afternoon, turning key roads into waterlogged stretches and slowing down traffic to a crawl. Commuters braving the downpour were left drenched and stranded in areas like Borabanda, Ameerpet, Banjara Hills, Mehdipatnam and beyond.
Motorists on two-wheelers sought shelter under flyovers, while four-wheelers in Banjara Hills and Jubilee Hills inched along as rainwater pooled on the streets. The sudden cloudburst brought the city’s usually brisk traffic to a standstill, with commuters struggling to navigate the waterlogged roads.
Residents in several localities reported waist-deep water in some low-lying areas, adding to the woes of an already rain-battered city.
