Hyderabad: Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma on Wednesday urged newly appointed IAS officers to keep public welfare at the heart of their service, underscoring the value of direct engagement with people in shaping effective administration.

Addressing the Assistant Collectors under training at Raj Bhavan, the Governor highlighted the need for ground-level interaction and accessibility, urging the young officers to step out of their offices and connect with communities. “Travel, meet people, understand their concerns that’s the essence of public service,” he advised.

Congratulating the officers on their postings to Telangana, he noted that the state offers significant opportunities for innovation and meaningful contribution. “You’re stepping into a state where development and people’s participation go hand in hand. Make the most of it,” he said.

The interaction saw participation from 2024 batch IAS officers, including Shri Saurabh Sharma, Ms. Saloni Chhabra, Shri Harsh Choudhary, Ms. Carolyn Chingthianmawi, and Shri Koyyada Pranay Kumar. MCRHRDI Vice Chairman and DG, Smt. Santhi Kumari, IAS (Retd.), and Course Director Dr. K. Usha Rani also accompanied the officers during their visit.

Earlier, Principal Secretary to the Governor, Shri M. Dana Kishore, IAS, briefed the officers on the workings of the Raj Bhavan, its ceremonial roles, and the day-to-day administrative responsibilities.
