Hyderabad: Israel’s assault on Gaza has turned deadlier. On Friday alone, 115 Palestinians were killed in a fresh wave of airstrikes by the Israel Defense Forces. The bombardment has been relentless over the past three days, with multiple neighbourhoods across the Gaza Strip hit repeatedly.
From Thursday night into early Friday, areas around Deir al-Balah and Khan Younis were pounded. Gaza’s health ministry confirmed the rising death toll and said hundreds more were wounded. The strikes intensified shortly after former US President Donald Trump concluded his tour of Gulf countries—excluding Israel.
Israel’s blockade along the Gaza border has stretched into its third month. In the southern city of Khan Younis, overnight raids between Wednesday and Thursday left 54 dead. Among them, 11 relatives of a local journalist.
A day earlier, from Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, Israeli air raids killed 70 more. That toll included 22 children.
The running tally: over 180 Palestinians killed in just three days. The health ministry said Friday’s 115 deaths pushed the overall toll past 53,000 since the conflict began. Injuries have climbed into the hundreds of thousands.
