HYDERABAD: Congress leader Addanki Dayakar has strongly criticised the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing it of engaging in caste-based politics to mislead the people of Telangana. He alleged that the BJP is trying to create unnecessary controversies instead of addressing key public issues.
Dayakar particularly objected to BJP leaders questioning Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s caste and background. He stated that such tactics were an attempt to divert public focus from the core issue of caste-based reservations. He reaffirmed that the Congress party remains committed to conducting a caste census and implementing reservations for Backward Classes (BCs).
He also criticised the Modi government, claiming that it has not taken any concrete steps for the welfare of BCs despite repeated promises. He challenged BJP leaders to push for a nationwide caste census if they truly cared about BC empowerment.
Dayakar urged people to be aware of BJP’s political strategies and support the Congress party’s efforts to ensure social justice through caste-based reservations.
