Opposition attempting to destabilise Congress government in Telangana: CM Revanth Reddy

Telangana CM Revanth Reddy criticised the BRS and BJP for attempting to destabilise the Congress government while presenting key initiatives in employment, education, and farmer welfare.

NIZAMABAD: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy accused the opposition of attempting to derail the Congress-led government while emphasising his administration’s efforts in governance. Speaking at a campaign event for Congress MLC candidate Narender Reddy, he criticised the BRS and BJP for obstructing development initiatives and questioned the BRS’s political relevance after its electoral setbacks.

Revanth Reddy detailed various government measures, stating that over 55,000 government jobs had been provided, teachers had been promoted and recruited in large numbers, and ITIs were being upgraded into Advanced Technology Centers with Tata Group’s support. He highlighted the establishment of Young Skills University, chaired by Anand Mahindra, as a major step toward employment generation.

On the issue of farmer welfare, he reiterated the state’s commitment to waiving ₹21,000 crore in farm loans, providing ₹12,000 per acre under Rythu Bharosa, and offering a ₹500 per quintal bonus for fine rice farmers. He also mentioned incentives for athletes like Nikhat Zareen and Mohammed Siraj, underlining the government’s focus on multiple sectors.

Criticising the previous BRS administration, he blamed it for leaving Telangana with a ₹7 lakh crore debt burden. Despite financial constraints, he assured that salaries were being paid on time and that ₹8,000 crore in dues for retired employees had begun to be cleared. He accused BJP leaders Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay of blocking key state projects, including the Hyderabad Metro expansion, Musi River rejuvenation, and the Regional Ring Road.

Urging graduates and employees to support Congress in the upcoming MLC elections, Revanth Reddy positioned his party as the only one committed to Telangana’s development. He stated that while the opposition remained engaged in political maneuvering, the Congress government was focused on delivering results.
