HYDERABAD: On Sunday, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy voiced his dissatisfaction with the Central Government’s recent Padma Awards selections. Speaking at the unveiling of a new Dr. B.R. Ambedkar statue at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad, he noted that the state government’s recommended candidates were overlooked by the Centre. He announced plans to address this issue by writing a letter to the Central Government. However, he welcomed the conferral of the Padma Shri award to Telangana’s Mandakrishna Madiga, considering it a commendable decision. The Chief Minister also urged students, activists, and leaders to engage with universities and directed officials to prepare details for filling all vacant posts at Ambedkar University.
