HYDERABAD, February 4: BJP MLA Payal Shankar has strongly criticised the Congress party’s conduct in the Telangana Assembly, labelling it as “wicked.” He expressed his disapproval over the adjournment of the Assembly under the pretext of a Cabinet meeting, noting that this decision was made without any consultations or consideration of other members’ opinions.
Shankar emphasised that the government should change its approach and uphold parliamentary decorum. She remarked that wasting Assembly time is not a good practice and called for comprehensive discussions on issues such as the caste census and the classification of Scheduled Castes.
Highlighting the BJP’s commitment to the welfare of Backward Classes (BCs) and Scheduled Castes (SCs) in the state, Shankar asserted that the party will not relent until the Congress fulfils its electoral promises. He pointed out that the Congress has failed to properly implement even half of the six guarantees it had pledged. Shankar warned that if this neglect continues, the Congress might face the same fate as the BRS, urging the party to honour its commitments.
