Virginia, January 7: A massive snowstorm swept across the United States on Sunday, prompting authorities to issue high alerts in multiple states. Officials warn that this could be the most severe snowstorm in the country in a decade.
Emergency declarations have been made in parts of Kentucky, Virginia, West Virginia, Kansas, Arkansas, Missouri, and New Jersey. Even typically warm regions like Florida are experiencing rare heavy snowfall.
The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued special warnings for Kansas and Missouri, predicting up to 8 inches of snow in certain areas. Strong winds, reaching speeds of 72 km/h, are expected to compound the impact.
