Hyderabad: The upcoming by-election in the Jubilee Hills Assembly constituency has emerged as a key battleground for Telangana’s major political parties following the death of BRS MLA M. Gopinath. With Congress, BRS, and BJP all eyeing the seat, the ruling party is stepping up efforts to retain momentum after its recent win in Secunderabad Cantonment.
Congress has begun extensive outreach in the constituency, with several senior leaders touring the area and engaging directly with residents. Ahead of announcing its candidate, the party has already intensified door-to-door interactions and local issue assessments.
In a strategic move, several influential leaders from other parties joined Congress in Jubilee Hills on Saturday. Under the supervision of MP Anil Kumar, Murali Goud, Sanjay Goud, and others formally joined the party. They were welcomed by PCC president and MLC Mahesh Kumar Goud, who draped them with the party’s stole.
Speaking to the media, Mahesh Kumar Goud said Congress is confident of victory in Jubilee Hills and accused BRS leader T. Harish Rao of spreading falsehoods over the Bankacherla issue. He said the Congress government is committed to governing in line with public expectations.
