Hyderabad: Cyberabad police executed their first property attachment under the new Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) framework, seizing 14 acres of land in a financial misappropriation case reported in Gachibowli.
According to Madhapur DCP Dr. Vineeth, this marks the first enforcement of property seizure provisions under the BNS Act in the zone.
Three months ago, a case was registered at the Gachibowli police station against one Venu Gopal, an employee at Telugu Foods’ Kondapur office, for diverting company funds to personal accounts.
Investigations revealed that Venu Gopal transferred money into accounts of his relatives, offering them commissions while investing significant amounts himself.
Police found he had used the misappropriated funds to purchase land in Visannapeta mandal of NTR district.
Following Crime No. 416/2025, DCP Vineeth approved the attachment, and Kukatpally 10th Additional Judicial First Class Magistrate Racharla Shalini issued orders for seizure.
The land parcel attached spans 14 acres. Gachibowli SHO Abibullah Khan and SI Anil Kumar, who led the investigation, were commended by the DCP.
