Hyderabad: Authorities at the Priyadarshini Jurala Project opened 15 gates to manage rising inflows, releasing a total of 85,805 cusecs from the dam.
Officials recorded an inflow of 92,000 cusecs into the reservoir. Of this, 51,779 cusecs were released through the spillway, 32,169 cusecs diverted for power generation, and additional discharge made for lift irrigation schemes.
The reservoir currently holds 8.010 TMC of water against its full capacity of 9.657 TMC.
Inflow into the Tungabhadra dam stood at 24,600 cusecs, while the outflow remained low at 197 cusecs. Water levels at the RDS barrage showed a minor increase, with 226 cusecs entering the structure and 208 cusecs reaching the downstream Sunkesula barrage. Officials said 355 cusecs were being released into the main canal of the RDS.
