Hyderabad: The CMD of AV Infra, Vijay Gogula, was arrested by Cyberabad police in Ongole for allegedly orchestrating a ₹200 crore real estate fraud under the guise of land ventures and high-return investment schemes.
Operating from Madhapur, AV Infra collected funds from over 500 investors under a “buyback scheme” promising 50% returns in 18 months. In cases of default, the company claimed it would transfer land ownership in the investors’ names.
Police said investors were told they would receive plots in proposed ventures at Narayankhed, Yadagirigutta, and Budhera. However, no development was undertaken and no land was handed over.
The scheme was run through AV Infra’s office in Madhapur. The scam surfaced after several victims approached the Cyberabad Police Commissioner’s office in Gachibowli.
Gogula is being questioned, and police are verifying financial transactions and collecting further details about victims. Investigators believe more complaints may follow.
