Hyderabad: Telangana BJP president and Union Minister G Kishan Reddy on Sunday described Congress as the party’s principal political rival and dismissed any equivalence drawn between the two.
Speaking to reporters in Hyderabad, Kishan Reddy said, “Why should we even respond to someone who says BJP and Congress are the same? That’s a useless argument.”
He said the BJP would fight corruption and dynastic politics, and contest the upcoming local body elections alone. Local issues would be the party’s focus, and the public would be informed about central assistance provided to local institutions, he said.
Kishan Reddy targeted the BRS leadership, questioning whether the party could name the BJP’s next national president. He alleged that BRS decisions are made at the family’s dining table, contrasting it with the BJP’s internal processes.
He claimed over half of the BJP’s mandal presidents in Telangana belong to backward communities, and said the party would launch campaigns on public issues after completing its internal organisational elections.
