Hyderabad: With Eid-ul-Azha prayers set to draw thousands of worshippers to Mir Alam Tank Eidgah on Saturday, Hyderabad Traffic Police has rolled out an elaborate traffic management plan to ensure smooth movement and public safety.
According to a statement issued by the Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic), key traffic diversions and designated parking spots will be in effect from 7.00 am to 11.30 am on June 7.
Worshippers travelling from Puranapul, Kamatipura and Kishanbagh towards the Eidgah will be allowed through Bahadurpura X Roads during this period. Vehicles should be parked at either the Zoo Park Wall parking area or the open space opposite Masjid Allah-ho-Akbar. General traffic will be diverted towards Dr. Manmohan Singh express flyover (Zoo Park to Aramgarh) to prevent congestion near Tadban.
For those coming from Shivarampally and Danamma Huts, access to the Eidgah will be via Danamma Huts X Roads. Parking arrangements have been made at the Modern Petrol Pump near the Eidgah main road, inside and outside Mir Alam filter bed, and in single line parking from Sufi Cars to Modern Petrol Pump (for four-wheelers). Additional parking is available from Yadav Parking to Legacy Palace. During this time, regular traffic will be diverted towards Shastripuram, NS Kunta and other alternate routes.
Traffic from Kalapather will be allowed through Kalapather L&O PS, with parking at Mass Material Shop Parking and Indian Oil Petrol bunk. Regular vehicles will be diverted towards Mochi Colony, Bahadurpura, Shamsheergunj and Nawab Saheb Kunta.
Heavy vehicles coming from Puranapul towards Bahadurpura may be diverted towards Ziyaguda and City College, depending on congestion, until the Eidgah congregation disperses. Similarly, heavy vehicles from Shamshabad, Rajendra Nagar and Milardevpally towards Bahadurpura will be routed via Dr. Manmohan Flyover during prayer timings. Vehicles from Bahadurpura side heading towards these areas will also use the flyover route.
The Traffic Police has urged all commuters to plan ahead and use alternative routes where possible. Live traffic updates will be available on the Hyderabad Traffic Police Facebook page (facebook.com/HYDTP) and Twitter handle (@HYDP). For immediate assistance, citizens can reach the traffic helpline at 9010203626.
All citizens are requested to cooperate with the Hyderabad Traffic Police to ensure a safe and peaceful Eid-ul-Azha.
