Hyderabad: Declaring that the newly crafted Telangana Rising 2047 vision document would serve as the Bhagavad Gita for the state’s transformation, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka unveiled the ambitious plan on Monday, promising a complete turnaround in governance and development.
Addressing a gathering after hoisting the national flag at the Khammam Police Grounds, Vikramarka lambasted the previous BRS government, accusing it of failing farmers and every other community over the last decade. “The Dharani portal introduced by the BRS only brought hardship and dispossession to countless farmers,” he said, adding that the Congress government’s swift move to scrap the portal and implement the Bhu Bharathi law had not only protected farmers’ rights but also curbed deep-rooted corruption.
He asserted that since coming to power, the Congress government had balanced development and welfare. “Just look at the power demand this summer—it’s a record, proving how rapidly the state is growing,” he said. He noted that Telangana’s peak electricity demand in 2024 was 16,877 MW, which has now climbed to 17,162 MW. By 2030, that figure is expected to soar to 24,215 MW.
To meet the surging demand, Vikramarka revealed a five-year action plan that includes new substations and transmission lines across Telangana. He also unveiled the Telangana Clean and Green Energy Policy 2025, which aims to secure sustainable power for the future.

Taking the renewable push a step further, Vikramarka announced that under the Indira Mahila Shakti Programme, a 1,000 MW solar power project had been assigned to women’s self-help groups. “In every district, 2 MW plants are being set up as part of the pilot phase. Soon, these groups will collectively generate 64 MW of solar energy,” he said, highlighting the government’s commitment to both green energy and women’s empowerment.
