Hyderabad: In a sweeping crackdown on drug trafficking, police seized narcotics worth nearly ₹2 crore from a residence in Vivekananda Nagar Colony under the Kukatpally Police Station limits on Monday.
The operation, led by the Special Operations Team (SOT), uncovered a well-organized racket involving suspects from Andhra Pradesh.
Acting on a tip-off, SOT personnel raided the house and arrested five people linked to the drug trade. The accused, all from Addanki in Andhra Pradesh, were caught with 800 grams of narcotics, five mobile phones, and ₹50,000 in cash.
Accorrding to police, one of the suspects, a constable from Tirupati, slipped away during the operation and is now on the run.
A case has been registered, and police are digging deeper to trace the network’s full reach and any connections to other areas.
