Hyderabad: Thailand’s Opal Suchata Suangsri, who clinched the coveted Miss World 2025 title at a glittering ceremony in Hyderabad, couldn’t stop gushing about her newfound love for Hyderabadi biryani.
Speaking to reporters moments after her crowning moment, Opal described winning the Miss World crown as a lifelong dream realised through sheer dedication and hard work. “I’ve worked tirelessly for this day, and my parents have been my greatest pillars of support,” she said. Her father is a real estate entrepreneur, while her mother is a homemaker, she added.
The Thai beauty queen revealed that her tryst with Hyderabad’s culinary scene left her smitten. “After arriving in Hyderabad for the Miss World competition, I fell head over heels in love with biryani. It’s now my absolute favourite dish,” she declared, flashing a beaming smile.
Opal also praised Telangana’s rich culture and traditions, expressing her admiration for the state’s hospitality. She also expressed her gratitude to the Telangana government for pulling out all the stops for the Miss World pageant. “The warmth and spirit of this place will always stay with me,” she said.
Now crowned Miss World, Opal is poised to begin her global journey of advocacy and goodwill. But if her fond words are any indication, Hyderabad – and its legendary biryani – have already claimed a permanent spot in her heart.
