Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka pitched Telangana as a prime destination for foreign investment, urging Russian firms to explore opportunities across the state’s fast-growing industrial sectors.
In a courtesy call at Pragathi Bhavan, Russian Consul General Valerii Khodzaev met with Bhatti Vikramarka on Sunday evening to discuss potential areas of collaboration. The Deputy Chief Minister laid out the state’s development trajectory, highlighting its aggressive growth despite being a relatively new entrant on the Indian federal map.
“Telangana is forging ahead,” he told Khodzaev, pointing to the ongoing construction of a ‘Future City’ spread over 30,000 acres near Hyderabad. He said the state government was extending full support to the expansion of pharma, hardware, software, and other industries.
He also detailed the government’s backing for sectors such as textiles, coal, biotechnology, and IT, in addition to flagship initiatives like T-Hub. Bhatti Vikramarka stressed the state’s robust human capital, crediting professional and engineering colleges for producing skilled talent. He said institutions like the upcoming Skill University and Sports University were part of efforts to further enhance workforce readiness.
The Deputy CM said Telangana was “completely suited” for investment, citing policy support and infrastructure readiness. He added that Telangana would extend all necessary cooperation to maintain strong India-Russia relations and expand them through industrial collaboration.
Valerii Khodzaev, in turn, said he was pleased to visit Telangana and noted the impressive progress in advanced technology and industrial development. He expressed readiness to work with the Telangana government, saying Russian industrialists were keen to invest in pharma, biotech, T-Hub, and the IT sector.
